The Multipurpose Wine Bag You Didn’t Know You Needed
A little bit of fashion, a lot of function
The typical wine-buying experience tends to play out like this: you grab a bottle from the shop and it’s handed to you in a crinkly, sad brown paper sleeve. If you’re buying a few, they’re packed into a bulky cardboard box. Great for shipping, but completely impractical for, say, a dinner party or picnic. And if you toss them into a canvas tote? Cue the clanking and occasional panic.
We knew there had to be a better way. Plus, every bag we own has become a ‘wine bag’ in some sense.
So we made one.
The Dancing Wine Bag was born from a simple idea: to create something that didn’t exist, yet is truly multipurpose. A bag that’s both fashionable and functional, a piece that bridges wine, lifestyle, and design, something that feels like an extension of how we actually live. When you’re carrying wine, you often want to carry other things too, but historically that’s been tricky: the strap digs into your shoulder, the bag is flimsy or too heavy, and it’s rarely stylish. A wine bag should be able to carry produce if you’re headed to cook dinner, a blanket for a picnic, or whatever else your plans demand. Think of it as utility with a splash of style. Just as the Rhode phone case reimagined the intersection of beauty and tech, we wanted to bring that same intentionality to wine.
Our resident artist, Britt Cyk designed and hand-illustrated our leather grape charms.
We teamed up with designer Gabrielle Lamura to make the bag truly artful, far from a stamped piece of merch. Every detail was considered: a sleek silhouette, a thoughtfully placed front pocket, and two interior compartments designed to cradle bottles securely. But we also built it to be versatile: it fits your farmer’s market haul, your morning newspaper, a baguette, even a yoga mat. Like everything we create, there are no rules, and it’s designed for however you move.
But just to give you a little idea of how we use it, here’s what lives in my mom and I’s Wine Bag:
Lauren: Corkscrews! They frequently get left behind. Business cards, always. Our discovery kit of Dancing mini scents, a hair clip, lip gloss, Touchland hand sanitizer, and sunglasses.
Cynthia: Something to drink, wine opener, makeup, fragrance, water, my wallet, keys, lip gloss, sunscreen, and some snacks. Sometimes my computer, sometimes my lunch and some utensils, probably candy. Most likely three newspapers, a book, and some work.
We can’t wait for you to carry it everywhere.
